The workforce of tomorrow will be dramatically different from the workforce of today and yesterday. New trends are influencing the future of work. Ironically, we are moving into an environment where it is no longer about employees needing the organisation, it is becoming more of the organisation needing the talent. By 2025 millennials who cherish mobility and globalisation will constitute 75% of the workforce and with their new ways of working and technological fluency, they will usher in a new perspective to work: they want an environment that they love and want to work in.

Employees are now starting to drive the decisions and beginning to have conversations on how work gets done, when it gets done, who it gets done with, what technologies are being used to get it done, etc. New behaviours on sharing, communicating and collaborating are permeating organisations. Technologies such as big data, the cloud, the Internet of Things, automation etc. are enabling us to think about work differently. Employee Engagement is no longer the once a year dip stick survey but one that needs to be real time. Employee development strategies need to be aligned with the future workplace.

Are we positioning ourselves to attract the right millennial talents? And are our practices geared towards this digital age? The 2019 edition of our annual centrepiece, the Asia HRD Congress will attempt to answer these and other burning questions. With an impressive line-up of international and regional thought leaders, HRD industry practitioners and digital gurus, Asia HRD Congress will be a must-attend event for all HR specialist, managers, practitioners as well as business leaders and C-suites who are keen on unlocking more value through their human capital development strategies. Peter Nixon who is an author, speaker & the founder of Potential Dialogue Institute, Hong Kong will be speaking on emotional conflicts and managing dialogues in a digital age and moderating a panel discussion on the Future of Work. He will also be conducting a special Masterclass on day 2 to prepare business leaders on how to dialogue, sell, and negotiate change for better results. His Potential Dialogue System has now helped thousands of leaders in nearly 600 organisations and 60 countries achieve optimal outcomes.

And to help us to put our idea and strategies in action with the right tools, we will have Michal Golebiewski, Chief Marketing & Operations Officer at Microsoft Malaysia and R. Muralidharan, Chief Technology Officer of Management Made Easy – TalentOz who will show us how digital solutions are already providing organisation with an edge in their HRD practices.
